About

Jack’s Ramblings is a little bit and a lot about this, that, and anything else that strikes my fancy. Writing is work. Or so I thought for much of my life. Writing is an enjoyable avocation today. I was a journalism major in college and I edited employee publications for several corporations during my working career. Researching favorite subjects and collecting information I can share with others gives me a purpose in writing. That’s why I write this blog. Content currently is devoted to a few of my favorite topics. Those topics are traveling, travel destinations, RVing, the Enneagram and musings. My musings are about anything and everything that sparks my interest. My musings include government, politics and journalism, or, even a rant or two about what bugs me.

Travel

Travel? What’s not to like about travel? Travel expands one’s world view. Seeing new places, meeting new people, discovering differences in customs, researching and exploring historical sites and indulging in various kinds of adventures seems to make a person a more complete human. Travel is good for the soul as well as the mind and body.

I’ve lived in suburbs and urban environments in such major cities as Seattle, Washington, St. Louis, Missouri; Chicago, Illinois and San Francisco, California. I also have traveled most of the states in the United States plus several provinces in Canada from Nova Scotia in the east to British Columbia in the west and all the way up into the Northwest Territories in the Canadian Arctic.

Trip Reports

Here are a few trip reports about my travels in my Class C motor home. My rig is a 2016 Forester made by Forest River.
